What is the Google HEART Map Template?
The Google Heart Map Framework can be defined as a Google framework that helps track and measure user experience. Google’s Heart Framework is composed of five different metrics: Happiness, Engagement, Adoption, Retention and Task Success.
Google uses these metrics to observe how successful their product or application succeeds with its users on a daily basis.
Google also incorporates this metric system into the Google Analytics platform.
How does the Google HEART Map Template work?
The five metrics that are used include:
This metric refers to whether users reported having a positive experience when using products.
Google looks at data such as NPS (Net Promoter Score), an index that surveys end-users and asks them how likely they are to recommend that particular product or service.
Google takes the results from their NPS scores and calculates whether there is a high percentage of satisfied users.
Google measures engagement by how engaged users are with various products or services.
Google measures Google Contacts, an index of which contacts were recently contacted and the frequency in which they are contacted.
Google Calendar can be used to determine if users are engaged by looking at whether users typically arrive on time for meetings that are scheduled through Google Calendar.
Adoption is measured by the number of new users successfully installing a particular application, as well as tracking retention rates.
Google Search Console is used to track the number of new users for a particular website or application and Google Analytics can be used to see if users are satisfied with Google’s products by measuring whether people return to Google services after signing up for them.
The metric Google uses to measure retention is looking at how long Google retains its users through the frequency of usage.
Google looks at data including how likely people are to continue using certain applications or services. Google also measures adoption rates by tracking the number of daily active users over time.
Google also uses Google Analytics to measure retention by looking at the percentage of users that return to Google services after they signed up for them.
Google calculates percentages over time, which means Google measures how many users are still engaging with their product or service over time.
The Google Heart metric that Google measures is task success. Google looks at whether or not users can complete tasks on applications efficiently.
Google looks at data including how long it takes users to accomplish tasks using suggestions via Search, as well as how satisfied users are with the ease of use of certain products.
Google also analyzes data found in Google Surveys to see if people find certain features helpful or easy to use.

The Google HEART framework is typically used to make decisions regarding products and how they can improve user experience.
Google uses the metric as an internal tool to measure a product success, and then apply what they learned from their research into new product updates.
